Which device do I need?

3DA requires iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. Room capture requires a LiDAR-equipped iPhone or iPad. Object capture requires hardware supported by Apple’s Object Capture framework. The app checks capture support on your device; capture is not available on every iPhone or iPad.

What does a room scan create?

A measured 2D floor plan, representative Room Model, actual point cloud when depth data is available, reference photos, an MP4 preview, and a PDF report.

Room Model or Actual Scan?

Room Model uses representative furniture and room geometry. Actual Scan shows observed depth samples as a point cloud. Furniture shapes and finishes in the model are illustrative. Measurements are approximate. Check critical fits in the real space.

How do I share?

Share offers video and PDF outputs. Share with AI prepares a PDF with room or object context and an optional editable prompt. Choose the recipient using the iOS share sheet. Review the content before sending it. An external AI app or service supplies any AI responses.

How do I open a .3da file?

Use Import in 3DA, open the file from Files, or visit the browser viewer. The file stays local in the browser. Large files and unsupported model features may exceed browser or device limits; try the iOS app or a smaller export.

A scan or export didn’t finish

Check that your device supports the capture mode and has free storage. Use good lighting and move steadily during capture. For objects, keep the object still and follow the guided views. If a report or preview fails, use the retry action shown in the app. Contact support if the problem continues.

Where are my saved scans?

Captures are stored in the app on your device. Export important captures before deleting the app. A separately installed development version may have its own saved library.
